FAQs
- What is the warranty on the track and rings?
All components of the track are covered by our 100% manufacturer warranty. All On The Right Track rings are also covered by our 100% manufacturer's warranty as long as damage to the rings is a result of appropriate use of our product.
- How long will your curtains last?
We have tested our curtains in several commerical laundry facilitieis, including the most prestigious dry cleaning/garment facility in the country (in Orlando and is owned by a "Mouse").
Anyway, here is what we found:
1. We are up to 75 washes (the industry life standard) and we have had no shrinkage (of course the water is hot).
2. Our stock curtain fabric held up great with only a little "pilling" of the fibers.
3. We can sustain temperatures up to 200 degrees.
4. If put through a steam tunnel, do not exceed 250 degrees.
5. The operators of the laundry love our product because there are no hooks that are left in grommets to tear up the curtains during the washing and drying process.
- What is the allowance for panels based on track length?
Although we can manufacture any curtain width requested, our stock program is exclusively 69" inches wide per panel. This offers our customers an assortment of benefits that a continuous curtain cannot.
Benefit 1: Standardization of widths throughout the facility.
Benefit 2: The ability to change out just one panel that is stained rather than an entire curtain
Benefit 3: Through overlapping rings, multiple entry points can be offered into privacy space.
To answer the question; the allowance for panel width for track length is determined by the number of panels needed. For continuous width panels the rule of thumb in generally 20% added length to the curtain.
- Are your Curtains AFF rated?
Our stock curtain selection is rated "IFR" (Inherently Flame Retardant) which is compliant with the National Fire Protection Standard NFPA 701. This means that our fabrics have been woven from fibers that are noncombustible for the life of the fabric. The cleaning proces will not dissipate the retardancy of the fabric.
Please keep in mind that local governments impose standards that supersede the national standards in some cases. The entire state of California, the city of Boston, and New York City, for example, have more stringent standards. For this reason, you may want to consult with your local Fire Marshall to make sure that "IFR" rated fabrics meet the local standard.
For custom curtains, it is important that your design team select the fabric that meets these requirements as well.
All of our mesh meets the requirement of being 20" inches below ceiling or sprinkler head. While this standard can also vary by local government, 20" inches seems to be the maximum. Our mesh also meets the appropriate perforation standards set forth by the National Fire Protection Standards.
- Can I order curtains in any color or pattern I want?
You have a couple different options when deciding on what color and pattern you want. You can choose from our stock options which include:
1. Mini Squares - this comes in 4 colors: Beige, Sage, Rose and Sea.
2. Botanical Vine
3. Botanical Leaf
If none of these fabrics float your boat, then we also have a custom fabric option. It's pretty simple; you choose the fabric that meets your needs and then we manufacture our curtains with your selected fabric. This includes any antimicrobial or recycled/green or leed certified fabrics.
- Do you make a disposable product?
YES! We now offer a disposable curtain as an alternative to a textile cubicle curtain. Recent studies have found that as many as 42% of privacy curtains contain VRE, MRSA or C-Diff. Disposables can easily be replaced without the need for laundering and are great in high infection areas such as ED's, ICU's and Burn Units. The disposable curtain still operates with the same "C" shaped hooks and can be removed in less than one minute without the use of a ladder. The curtain is fire retardant, recyclable and comes in a variety of different colors and even prints!
- What are the Specifications for installation?
Not only do we have certified installers available for anywhere in the continental United States as well as Canada, but we can also provide an in-depth installation guide for your on-site facility maintenance department if you would like to do a self install.
- How do I wash the curtains??
Do: Use a commercial laundry facility that services healthcare linen.
Do: Feel free to wash them in a small capacity washer and dryer as long as temperatures reach the required 160 degrees. Our smaller standard panel size makes this a much easier option.
Do: Feel free to dry clean our curtains, although this is a much more expensive option and not necessary.
Do Not: Put our curtains through a commercial drum ironer.
Do Not: Use a commercial press to remove water from the curtain at the end of the wash cycle.
Do Not: Wash our curtains by hand; this would take a very long time.
**For guidelines regarding the washing of shower curtains please contact us with the style of curtain and we will send you the correct washing protocol.
- Can the curtains be used in a Psychiatric facility?
Our curtains can not be used in a Psychiatric facility due to patient safety requirements.
- Can you "retrofit" into our existing rails?
You bet your bottom dollar we can. We can leverage your existing rails and install our track into them. However, please keep in mind that our track is required with our system. It is part of the magic, so while your old rails are still on your ceilings, it will be our track system which enables you to achieve a return on investment.
- How many hospitals currently use your system?
This number is continuing to grow each day as we develop new relationships with hospitals all over the United States and Canada. We have over 11,346 beds installed and are growing that number each day!
- Will your curtain come off the track accidently?
It is actually more difficult to get our rings to pop off accidently than it is to solve a Rubik's Cube. While we have all seen traditional curtains that have grommets that have slipped the hook, we have designed our latest version of track to completely eliminate that possibility. Still skeptical?? Go to our featured films and watch "Curtain Pull," then you will be a believer!
- If you install the curtains for us, will the installers be licensed contractors?
Our installers are certified and carry all of the necessary insurance to operate within your facility.
- What happens if a curtain snap on a curtain breaks?
On the rare occasion that a snap does break, we have a replacement repair kit. The easy to use replacement kit allows you the ease and convenience of fixing a snap in a snap.
- How would you handle an installation on an open unit?
Under most situations, our track system can be installed in less than 60 minutes per room. We would obviously have to coordinate with the nursing unit and the housekeeping staff to cycle through the rooms on an open unit.
- Do you offer an antimicrobial curtain option?
- Can you standardize the lengths of your curtains for a facility that has various ceiling heights?
In situations where the ceiling height ranges from 8 feet to 9.5 feet this can be achieved with our 12 inch extensible track drop. There are some situations where this would not be advisable but can easily be determined during the proposal process. Please refer to the Photo Gallery to view this option.
- What is the life span of your curtains?
Til death do us part. Our curtains will withstand the traditional "75 Death Wash" standard. Since fabric is fabric, regardless of the privacy curtain that is being used, our curtain's life span is determined by the fabric you choose, and not by the technology of our hook free header which holds up even better than the grommet header system.
- Do you comply with California's fire code?
On the Right Track Systems, Inc. has passed the Barclays Official California Code of Regulations Title 19 Section 1237.1 (Small Scale Test).
